Off to LI...

Well, I only have 1 LO to share this morning. I spent most of the time between getting home and bed last night packing. Packing for Mike and the kids is complicated enough, but then throw me into the mix, and... well... Aiiee! At least my camera stuff and my makeup(which I almost NEVER wear) are always in my purse. But, I also wear contacts, refuse to leave without my EHD, and needed to grab some scrapping mags, blank paper, and my printouts with blank books (I print my LOs as I complete them, but only seem to cut them down to 8x8 and put them into books when I have about 50 printed! LOL)to keep myself occupied...

I woke up with a killer headache this morning, and now have to go in to work and explain that my husband can't make up his mind for squat. I wanted to leave for I after work tonight. The calling hours are tomorrow and Thursday with the funeral on Friday. He wanted to leave last night. I tried to explain that we still needed to pack, I don't get paid 'til Tuesday, and there would be nothing to do down there today... But, he was deteremined so I told my boss I wouldn't be back for the rest of the week... I get home to Mike mowing the lawn, and when I start running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to get us packed up he tells me that he told his boss he'd work today!! OY! I can't win. So my choice today is to look like an idiot and go to work, get paid for the day, and not have to take a vacation day, OR stay home and go nuts yelling at the kids... Guess which one wins?!?! LOL

Anyway, gotta' shut down the pc and pack up my EHD...

(Almost) 4-yr-old For Sale...

Brenden... OY, Brenden!! Love the kid to death, and realize in the grand scheme he really isn't all that bad, but there are days... Like yesterday... He was doing pretty well when he woke up. I found out that if you sound a word out for him he can pretty much spell it! (TY, LMax!!) Then he started in... getting cheese sticks out of the fridge without asking, getting mad when I asked him to put away the grapes he and his sister had been eating, not helping at all with cleaning his room unless I yelled about 4 times and swatted his butt, getting milk out and "making" chocolate milk for himself and Micaila... and the list goes on - in short he wouldn't listen to a word I said. Like Isaid- I know most of this is typical boy stuff, but I had a SERIOUS tension headache from yelling at him by 1:30pm!! It was so bad I had trouble keeping my eyes open... Oh! And, in the middle of it Micaila would start doing the same thing to get some attention... GRRRRRR!

If you didn't see the post below we got the call last night that Mike's grandfather passed away. We're now waiting on arrangement details to figure out who's going and when as it means time off work, and a long drive...

My shoulders look like a lizard who's outgrown its skin... Having owned an iguana for the better part of a year I can say that with some accuracy! LOL I'm still rubbing aloe gel into them at least twice a day.

I've apparently found my mojo again... I've created 5 LOs and 3 templates in the last 24 hours! I've been surfing some paper scrapping magazines and blogs/websites, and creating sketches from LOs I like. I then turn them into templates, and create my LOs! Please excuse the repitition you may sense in the following LOs... Dad's been sending me a few pics each day, and I've been playing with all the new photos of Jaylin!

Sad news...

We just got the call that Mike's grandfather passed away. Apparently about two hrs ago... He had Alzheimer's really bad, and had some complications of health due to the Alzheimer's. He'd been in the hospital and/or nursing home since last fall so this isn't entirely unexpected, but sad none the less...

Saturday again...

Dad did make it to UT ok. His connection got delayed by a little over 2 hrs which made the trip tons of fun. He ended up not getting in to Salt Lake City Airport 'til about 2:30am. But, he's there - safe & sound, and having tons of fun with Jaylin! (...and Blayne & Marcy!) He sent me a couple of shots from the last couple of days, and OMG has she grown!!! And, she's got this ridiculously orange shock of hair that looks fairly untameable! LOL I want to get a LO done with one of the pics later today.

I'm at work now. Dropped the kids at Aunt Nora's on the way in. They were super-excited to be spending the time with Nora, Mark & the kids. It didn't hurt either that Mark's best friend's son is having a birthday party today so they're heading there... I'll be picking them up after work to head home.

I thought I had everything ready to go this morning. The kids woke me up at 6:30am ready to "ride to Aunt Nora's". Just after pulling away from her house I realized I forgot my dose of Cipro... I'll have to take it as soon as I get home, and then just before bed I guess.

I'm thinking baked beans and Cheddar Lil Smokies for dinner... Of course, it just hit me that I probably should have stuck them in the crock pot before I left! LOL It's not like I was a complete deadbeat this morning... I cleaned up the huge mess Brenden made in the kitchen with some almost dead flowers and the cat's water dish, put the comforter that was in the washer out over the deck rail to dry, got the kids breakfast, threw a new load in the washer, got an extra change of clothes for each kid into their "diaper" bag (it's a backpack), created a coupon for a CT member at PPF, cleaned out my email, mailed the bills, took a super-quick shower, and created a LO. You know - a TYPICAL morning! LOL I didn't do the dishes, but honestly there were only about 6 dishes IN the sink...

Oh! I also rubbed Aloe gel into my shoulders 3 times 'cause I started peeling yesterday. My left shoulder is much worse than my right. It still has a red area that is hot to the touch...

Burn, baby, burn...

'k... So in typical mostly German-Irish-white girl fashion I burn easy - VERY easy. In typical too-many-things-going-on mom fashion I forget sunscreen. I'm also currently on Cipro to deal with a UTI which states on the label to avoid prolonged exposure to direct real or artificial sunlight. Do we see where I'm going with this?!?! LOL I look like a heavy Smurfette this morning except that I'm red instead of blue!!! Arms, top of the chest, top of my back, back of my neck (except where the camera strap was), tops of my feet, backs of my fingers, side of my shins, backs of my calves, AND back of my left knee!! I mean directly in the BACK of the knee!?!!?!

Hasn't modern medicine thought of a pill to help prevent sunburn?? I MIGHT be able to remember that! Broccoli is supposed to help, and lord knows since my kids love it I tend to eat it at least once a week...

Anywho - I meant to be out of the house for 1-2 hrs tops. Ended up being out for just over 4. At least I had to run to Super WalMart afterwards for groceries... I grabbed a thing of Aloe gel while I was there. It helps for about 2-5 minutes after application! LOL

I got 2 templates created before we left yesterday morning, and started a 3rd which I finished in between the two trips. 2 of the 3 were based on LOs created by evitangel which I loved, and the 3rd from a LO at the GSO blog. Kind of a twisted scraplift so I can use them again. Hope Gabs and Helene don't mind. :)

I used one of the ones from Gabs to create a LO this morning...

What a week...

In a nutshell - crud... the heat, the bad weather, the medical issues (I still haven't told you about Thursday morning's fiasco...), the LAST (TG!!!) set of prom tuxes, an ex-coworker and a family friend have both lost parents this week, Brenden dumping his cereal and milk all over the diningroom carpet... Have I mentioned I STILL don't have the planting we started back in April done?!?! Every time I have free time it's pouring. At least we don't have flooding like Iowa. (Sorry, Heather! Hope all's ok!)

There have been bright spots, and I'm trying to focus on those...

- I won the W&W kit - awesome. Of course, dumbbutt me put the element pack instead of the full kit into my cart, and didn't realize it 'til this morning... DUH!!! (So I had to go back and grab the pp this morning.)

- I designed a mailing card for work this week that is totally NOT our normal style, but in MHO ever so much better! And, thanks in grand proportions go out to Queen Wenchie, Kris, for allowing me to use the frame from Bat-Boo (now available!) on it. I emailed her quick while at work 'cause I REALLY needed tape or staples and a polaroid-ish frame to make the design work right, and she came through!

- Things have been going much better at home for a while now, and tonight we're supposed to go see Kungfu Panda at the drive-in! Haven't been to a movie in over 2 yrs... Of course, KP doesn't start 'til 9:10 which is an hr after the kids bedtime so I've told them they MUST take a nap this afternoon. The second feature doesn't start 'til like 11:30, but it's the new Indiana Jones. Not sure if I'll be able to stay up for both! LOL

- This weekend is the town "field days" in Philly, and I'm hoping to take the kids over-town tomorrow for a while.

Seems like there was something else I wanted to share, but for the life of me I can't remember it right now! LOL I'm not that old so I guess I'll blame it on my 2 pregnancies having sucked the brain cells out of me!

**Edited to add... I remembered! We now have an LSS again!! It's Grand Opening was yesterday. She had TONS of acrylic stamps from several companies (including BG!), and chipboard - my two "paper" downfalls! With all my commitments I won't be leaving the digi world, but I may be walking that hybrid/paper line a little more often now! :)

Bobbie's slowing down for the month of June for vacation, but new releases are available at One Scrappy Shoppe on Mondays! Be sure to stop by, and see what's brewing there!

Heather's Bundle 2 is now broken open. You can buy any parts of it individually in her store.

Just a quick hi...

I'm still here. Had to work normal hours plus a prom on Saturday so not much time to do anything, and I've had some minor health issues causing me pain. NOTHING serious - just annoying, and as usual for me first-time issues. The only re-occuring issues I tend to have are ear/sinus infections, and knock-on-wood, I haven't had either of those in a couple of years.

A Hybrid Project, a Freebie, and some LOs...

Well, I finished my first complete hybrid project on Sunday. I altered a clock using the My Mind's Eye Boys and Princesses Digital Kit available at Get Digi With It.

Photobucket

Micaila's thrilled. I wish I'd gotten her name a little more centered, but as long as she's happy it's all good. I did notice last night I am going to have to take it back apart because the brad and acrylic flower at "6" is too tall, and the hour hand has gotten stuck! LOL

I have the Sorbet QP for you this morning. I still haven't gotten the new pics of Jaylin, but I think I'm gonna use some pics I got of a cousin's new daughter last week.

Kindergarten Round-up

Today's the day... I have off work to go get Micaila registered for kindergarten. I thought I was ready for this. I expected the first day of school to be a small issue, but not this. Instead I've been awake since 3am when Mike's alarm went off for him to get ready for work. Can't shut off the brain to get back to sleep... It did allow me to finish a LO I started last night, and then couldn't figure out what to journal about on as it started as an AAM page... It morphed...

And, if you can read it and the journaling doesn't make you at least tear up then there's something wrong with me 'cause the tears were just runnin' as I typed it...

**Edited to add journaling:

I have to let go just a little more today... The first step of many down the long road to true indepdence. Not that there haven't all ready been times when I had to step back, and watch you learn something for yourself, but none of those moments seemed quite so big.

I'm still a little dazed each time I gaze at you, and wonder how something so gorgeous came from me. While you have your moments - like any other child - of meaness or pettiness, overall you are a loving, giving, caring girl. A child of true beauty inside and out.

Today we register you for kindergarten, and in a few short months you'll be off to your first day of school - alone.

New friends...
New interests...
New moments...

Love,
Mommy

I also have another that I saved as a QP because I'm waiting on new photos of Jaylin to complete it. I'll probably be giving a freebie in the next few days. As you can tell I'm feeling a little more myself. Still not all the way back, but better!

I should go grab a shower before the kids get up as I have a ton to do today including LOs! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

New month...

It doesn't seem possible, but tomorrow I have to go register Micaila for kindergarten in the fall. May flew by even though it felt like it was crawling. I didn't even complete 1/2 of my CT LOs. I'm hoping to get a strong start for June though so things get back on track. Organizationally I'm on top of everything - creatively not so much.

I have a Father's Day card & gift for Mike; card for my dad from me; and gift for my FIL. Dad had all ready printed a card for my FIL from the kids so I'm not buying one. I also have an anniversary card for my SIL & DH for next week. And, I have asked for and extra goodies ready to package up for Kristine.

I have a clock I want to alter. I'm thinking about using the Princess part of MME's Boys and Princesses Digital Kit with some goodies I found at Big Lots... Then I can hang it in Micaila's room. I also have a mini lunchbox tin I found with candy at the $1 store to alter...

It's cruddy out so I can't go finish up the planting we started over a month ago. My broccoli plants are starting to get heads on them, and are still in the planter they came in from the store! I was hoping to get that finished up today, but no such luck. Instead, I have done 2.5 loads of dishes, am washing the 2nd load of laundry (with 1 more to go), swept the kitchen, and with help from Dad and the kids, done a Wally World run, vaccuumed the entire downstairs and put away 1 load of laundry.

Yesterday I was so blinkin' busy at work that I had 2 kids walk out, and had to call the boss in from home. I generally work Saturdays alone except for a few weeks during prom season when he thinks I'll be busy. This year prom season is running about 2 weeks longer than normal so with the few proms that are left he didn't think I would be that busy - and I probably wouldn't have been - except I had 3 wedding parties walk in as well as the prom kids. And, a mom walk in to pay her son's sitting fee, and a couple who wanted a gift certificate, and 2 calls asking for info about senior portraits (where they wanted me to describe all options to them in detail, but I managed to put them off by mailing it to them due to being busy), and 6 calls asking what time we close on Saturday, and Oh! aren't we open on SUNDAY?!?!?!?! Folks, I all ready work 6 days a week - don't make it 7...

'k... so I'm sick of witchin', and I'm sure you're sick of reading it! LOL So, here is a LO I finished before work yesterday, and 2 from last night...
