Thursday things...

Just a REALLY quick post...

Remember last fall I blogged about my beligerant neighbor who was so rude??? His wife stopped by last night... She says, "First, I want to apologize you were entirely correct about where the honking was coming from." To which I only nodded my head because well,... HELLO it just took you 6 months to come apologize??? And, not even your husband who was the jerk comes to do it???

Any way she then asked if we minded if they cut up part of a tree that fell out back of the pool during the winter. I was just gonna' break it up and put it out to the curb for Spring Clean-up so help yourself!

Just weird...
---------------

Then at 9:30pm I got a call from my BF, Kam... She'd just gotten off the phone with the hospital who told her to call the family 'cause they weren't sure if Teresia was going to make it through the next half hour - let alone the night. As you can imagine she was a complete wreck, and I felt so helpless 'cause I'm several states away... Things had seemed to be going better. Teresia's had several surgeries to help with the burns, and she'd been fighting. But, apparently the bacteria got back in and started infections again. She'd turned septic yesterday after another surgery.

I called her quick this morning, and she was in a much better frame of mind. Teresia DID make it through the night, but she's still septic so things are kind of in a holding pattern atm. Any good thoughts/prayers are welcome.
-----------------

I finished 6 more QPs for Michelle's album so I'm up to 17/21 done. I hope to finish it tonight so I can cross that off my to do list. I also started a LO for Heather this morning, but didn't have time to finish it before leaving for work as my pc slows down HORRIBLY every morning at about 8am. I thought it was the virus software doing it's scan that was doing that to me, but I changed the schedule to 12am so that's not the whole issue...

I ordered more RAM for my pc yesterday as well as a USB stick for Mike 'cause he's hot to get one (and mind you doesn't even know what it's for) and a 1TB EHD. I found a really good deal online, and figured while I had the tax money I'd better get it. I should be set with 1TB for at least 2 years! LOL Hopefully once I get the new RAM installed I won't have stalling issues with my programs...
--------------------

Watch my blog... I have an exciting annoucement coming for May 1st! Not to mention all the NSD specials I'm sure to have for May 3rd!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Title?

I have no clue for a title this morning... I was running late, and had to wait 'til I got stuff settled at work to post.

Last night I got home, and started a download from Bob's ftp to make sure it worked while we walked the 3 blocks to Brenda's for dinner. The kids actually ate almost their entire dinner! I order 10 chicken nuggets and 1 order of curly fries to split between them, and we normally end up coming home with almost 1 whole dinner between the two of them. Last night we only had 3 nuggets and about 4 fries left so Mike and I ate them! LOL

We got home, and the download had worked perfectly so I set up the rest of the files to download, and started multi-tasking. I got Micaila in the tub for her bath, took the plastic off the two windows we'd covered for the winter, uploaded a QP for Kristine's store, delivered 1 CT QP via email and one via Hello, and unzipped a bunch of CT files to start working on some LOs. I got 1 LO started, and had to get Micaila out of the tub. Then I realized it was 9pm - an hour after their bedtime... no wonder I was tired! LOL

I got up this morning, and finished the LO.

YYEEEESSSSSS!!

Ok, so it is my boss's photog friends, Bob &Parker, who had asked if I'd be willing to design their senior showcase abums at the Expo two weeks ago. I decided not to wait for Bob and Gary (my boss) to talk again as it had been over a week, and emailed Bob directly on Saturday.

I got a response from him on Sunday, but couldn't reply until yesterday as I needed my post-it with notes which was at work! LOL We've come to an agreement, and I'll be designing two sample albums for him asap, and then designing any he gets orders for through the senior season!

I'm hoping this will go well enough to let me buy PSCS2 or PSCS3 to use at home. I'll probably need to increase the memory in the pc for that, but it would be soooo worth it!
-------------------

On the complete opposite note, Gary got a call from his oldest son's girlfriend at about 5pm last night letting him know Dillon is ok, but a motorcylce he was working on blew up while he was working on it. From what she told Gary he has burns on his arms and the top of his head pretty bad, but was otherwise ok... The garage was totaled with all 5 motorcycles he had plus some other equipment like a drill press.

It's a good thing Gary was heading to Burlington anyway to pick up his youngest from college... 3 of his 4 boys are there. Dalton is at home working with us.
------------------

Not much else to report this morning, and Micaila's asking for me to read a book so I'm off! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Monday, Monday...

Well, I only got 2 pages done yesterday, and it kind of felt like I was pulling teeth to get them done. I forgot to take my Claritan this weekend which I think was part of my issue.

I also finished 6 more 8x8 QPs for Michele's book this morning using templates I built at work for the senior albums. So I'm up to 11/21 done for that project! My templates made the work go MUCH faster! LOL

I may have some really good news regarding the senior showcase abums in the next day or two! I gave up waiting for my boss to speak with the one friend I knew was most likely to follow through, and emailed him myself on Sat. I got a response last night so we're now working details out!

Gotta' run! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Mornin'! A LO and a blogthing...

Yesterday Sharon (my co-worker) and I watched the forecast on and off throughout the day. On Thursday they'd predicted a high of 70 today... By 10am Friday it was up to 77... By 1pm up to 78... By 5pm up to 80!!! They're still saying 80 for today, but the forecast for the next few days has raised as well. We were supposed to go back to about 60 tomorrow, and we're now sitting at predictions of 72-74 for the next two days before 68 on Tuesday! I sooooooo don't trust this warm weather this early in the year! LOL

I managed to finish 1 LO this morning...

I also have this to share:

What Cate Means
You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily.
You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind.
A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life.
You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home.
You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

200th post!

I've hit it... my 200th post is this one! I got 3 QPs done last night - 2 bracket book ones for Laura and a 6x4 bragbook page for Heather. None I can share as yet. A lot of my designers seem to be giving me goodies that are "surprises" for NSD so that I'm not allowed to post as yet. :( I'm very much a make and share kinda' gal! LOL

I decided to share some photos from Monday & Wednesday nights as I have no LOs to share.

Just a quick post...

For the second time this week I went to the playground with the kids after work. Mike went as well this time.

Then I started working on the QPs for Michelle & Kristine. I need 21 pages per book. I finished 3 last night and two more this morning. So 5/21 done for an 8x8 book! I got 1 12x12 QP done for Kristine this morning which I'll need to package up tonight so we can load it into the store.

Other than that not much news. The boss hasn'tspoken with his buddies yet so I'm still in limbo there. Although I did invest in a few more of Royanna's commercial use overlays. Trying to get them burned onto a CD-RW right now, but for some reason these Sony ones just plain SUCK! If I burn something at work or at Dad's they work fine. Try here, and they say they have to be formatted first and then the format fails! There's obviously something about my system that doesn't like these discs... BUT, my pc will read them fine if there are files on it...

Anywho, I'm off! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

All the usual suspects...

I've been less chatty lately. Kind of feel like I'm running on fumes most days. That tends to make me less chatty. But, it does seem to be a wide spread issue in digi-land... Most of my usual commentors have been hiding lately too.

We're starting to gear up for our senior season at work which means I have a LOT less time to try to surf the net at work. I'm gonna have to start trying to squeeze it in while at home - during my scrapping time! (insert bug-eyed smilie)
------------------

Sunday was fun - if exhuasting! Nora showed up about a quarter after 11 with Mark and the boys in tow. Krysti was at her cousins' for the day so she wasn't with them. Dad came over about a 1/2 hr later. Mom also stopped by for a couple of hours. We watched Waterhorse while chowing on frozen pizzas and bagged salad - quick and easy!

Then the kids went off to play, Mom headed home, and Nora, Dad and I attempted to play CSI Miami while Mike & Mark watched a ball game. I now know why the game was abundant in the clearance section... It's Clue only much, MUCH more involved! LOL Even Dad gave up at the end! So, on to SkipBo!

Still couldn't get Mark or Mike to play with us, and Nora wanted to play partners so Marky got thrown into the game. He'd never played before, but he was a good sport about it. (Krys is normally our 4th.) Dad & I trounced them though.

Nora let Marky head back upstairs to play and she, Dad & I played one game of Phase 10 which is like garbage rummy. That is one game that you never know who is going to win until you are down to the last hand or two! Dad beat us.
---------------------

On to Monday night I took the kids down to the playground at the elementary school down the road from us after I got home from work. Took about 70 more pictures in about 40 minutes! I even used one in a LO that night!

This is a LO for my aunt who lost her husband last July rather suddenly due to cancer.
--------------------

Some of you may remember I had a funeral to go to last July. Uncle Richard was diagnosed with either stomach or pancreatic cancer (I can't remember which although I lean towards pancreatic.), and given 3-6 months to live. He died a week later. It hit Aunt Dorothy really hard, but she seems to be doing ok now. I think maybe her grandson and granddaughter who were both born a few weeks later may have helped immensely. At the time I offered to do a digital book for her of her photos with Richard. I told her when she was ready to get some photos withs dates and/or journaling together, and send them to me. I'd scan them into mypc, and work from there.

Yesterday she and two other aunts came down to visit, and while they were here she handed Dad some photos to scan. So I'll have some more pages featuring the two of them coming along shortly I'm sure.
---------------------

Well, I have to go do dishes and get dressed! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

PS - I forgot the food porn!!!! I finally stopped to get Pad Thai on the way home last night - 1 order with shrimp for Mike & 1 with chicken for me!(Kids wanted mac & cheese...)

A few LOs...

My sis is supposed to becoming over today, and bringing part or all of her family. Dad bought Waterhorse for everyone to watch, and I'm hoping to play some cards or the CSI Miami boardgame. (I've owned CSI Miami for almost two years now, and still not opened it...) I also have to run out to Super Walmart 'cause when we went the other night I managed to forget to get myself lunches for at work - even though they were on the list!

Some of you may remember back in February my boss had me create a "Showcase" album at work using one of our 2008 seniors. (You know - I got to scrap at work?!) These were very simple LOs as I didn't have any commercial use elements to use, and the boss wasn't in the mood to buy any before seeing what the product would look like. I used some commercial use overlays by Royanna Fritschman to create flattened papers for. (My boss doesn't have any of my overlay files - only the jpeg papers.) Anywho - he took the album I designed to an Expo last Tuesday night, and showed it to some of his photographer buddies in the Syracuse area. Two of them liked it so much they asked if I'd be willing to do theirs in my "off" time! Not real clear on details yet. They may only be asking me to do their sample albums - or they may be asking me to create their albums for the senior season. The first would only take maybe a week a piece. The second may tie up quite a bit of my time from June-Sept depending on how well they sell these. Each is a 10pg album with 15-30 images in it depending on the templates used. I created templates of my pages as I worked so I could re-create without as much trouble. I've also added a few since being asked Tuesday so that I am up to 4 single-page templates and 9 spreads. I'd rather have more than is needed than have to play with something at the last minute.

On the the LOs... I finished this Friday night before bed...

It's official!

I'm selling QPs for Kristine! My 1st is in the shoppe here. And, if you want a peek it looks like this:

And, while you are there check out Dazzle! It is a gorgeous kit full of glittery, yummy goodies, and 30% off right now!!!
Photobucket

Realize that the shrunk down previews don't do them full justice, but I can't fit bigger ones into my blog column! LOL
------------------------

With the new responsibilities for Kristine and Michelle I've had to take that big step into Paypal-land. I'd managed to avoid it until now. Jeez, want to talk about a run-around... In order to get validated I have to confirm two small amounts (each under $1) that they deposited into my checking account. Ok, shouldn't be too hard, right?

Well, in my case we have internet banking- sort of. At one point Mike had to set up a 3rd acct because work was supposed to be depositing money for the TMs to use to reward their team members directly into their own acct. I didn't want the headache of trying tokeep his work money seperated from our money so we set up the 3rd acct linked to our 2 personal ones. At that time he asked for the internet access, so they sent him the info. He never used it, the 3rd acct has been closed because work NEVER did deposit any money, and he can't find the paperwork for the internet access. So I can't get into the accts online because I don't have the username or password.

On Tuesday when I go to the bank to cash my paycheck I ask for a transaction report - just in case it went through a little faster than they stated... Nope no deposits. So yesterday I stop at the bank on my way to work, and explain the issue with the internet access and why I need it - no problem - I just have to call this number and they can get it switched around for me. I will need a phone access code which the teller has ordered for me which will come in the mail in the next 3-5 business days, but if I need this sooner just press 0# until it sends me to a person. Ok. I call the number; use the 0# trick; get a person and explain the issue again - no problem - she just has to tranfer me to someone in the internet banking dept. Transferred, Iget a guy who has been toldwhat myissue is, andismorethanwilling to help... BUT, he can only give me the username (which is all numerals and about 16 digits long) - to get the password he has to send me a letter which will take 7-10 business days to reach me!!!! I understand them not being able to see the current password for security reasons, but they can't even change it! (Now I do have to put a disclaimer here - every single person I talked to in this meandering path was VERY friendly, and as helpful as they could be with theguidelines they have.)

So,... last ditch effort I call the other branch of the bank in town. Explain what I need and why. Tell her that I really can't wait the 7 days to get this set up - to which she exclaims "7 days?!?". Yup - they said they had to mail it, and it would take 7-10 businessdays to reach me. "You just need the amounts?" "Yes, and they should both be under $1." "Ok, verify this for me,... and this,... and this... here are your two amounts." THANK YOU!!!

I was going to try to get a LO done to post, but Brenden just came and asked me ever so nicely to help him build something. Guess the LO will have to wait 'til tonight...

Tagged!

I have no LOs to share today 'cause I had a massive headache by the time I got home last night. Today's all about the tags... I got tagged by Kristine last week - and forgot, and then got tagged by Diane yesterday and Kari this morning! Duuuude! Talk about ganging up! LOL

Oh! And, before I forget... my camera's being delivered TODAY!!! I had it shipped to work so maybe I'll get to play a bit before I get home. :) YEAH!!!!! :D

Anyone else SERIOUSLY tempted by the Diamond Membership over at DST? Only available through the 10th... Wish it was a little less $$... Today's the 8th btw.

'K. On to the taggin'...

Kris's is up first: I must tell 6 things about me….that you may not know….

1. IRL I'm fairly shy until I get to know you... then WATCH OUT!

4. I was ranked 12th in my class of 181 seniors in high school.
5. I LOVE living in a test market area! I'll try *almost* anything once!
6. My first car was a 1985 Caprice Classic Sedan, Can you say boat?!? LOL

6:) Four fave foods: tacos/taco salad, mashed potatoes, Dad's potato salad, and chocolate
7:) Four places I’d rather be: in a time warp that allows for 12 extra hrs in each day, in the future where tranporters are a reality, Disney World with the kiddos, or spending time with Jaylin
8:) Four people I’m tagging: Andrea, Kelly (aka Greedz), Kristin, and Dawne

And, then on to Kari's: Seven things about me...

Facts...
1. I HATE shoes. I'd go barefoot all the time if I could, but oddly enough I LOVE boots! Not winter boots, but cowboy boots, shit-kicking boots, and hump-me boots as some of my friends usedto refer to them. LOL
2. I'm a voracious reader. I can go through a 300 pg book in 1-3 days only reading on lunch, in the bathroom, waiting at drive thru's, etc.
3. I once tried to start my own wreath-decorating business, but the only customers I got were my husband's grandmother and aunt! Good thing I hadn't invested much yet! LOL
4. I'm a serious procrastenator.
5. The last true vacation I had was a 3-day weekend in the Poconos for my 3rd anniversary which also doubled as our honeymoon.
6. I know more about cars than my husband does - whose dad was a mechanic...
7. I have a year's worth of glass, plastic, and metal recycling stuck in a shed in the yard because the person who had days off when the recycling plant was open didn't take care of it. Guess it's my problem now...

Ask, and you...

may recieve! LOL Two of my CT designers have asked me to work with them creating QPs! I've got 1-12x12 done for one of them, and just finished up reading, signing, copying, and emailing the contract to the second! (The paper copy will be in the mail today!) I also had to setup a Paypal account as I've never had one of those either! LOL See? Blogging has it's purposes! :)

I'm back to working 6 days a week as of this morning... Blech! I got 3 LOs done this weekend and 2 QPs. (Only 1 LO was on Saturday!) Yesterday I also: did 1 load ofdishes, 3 loads of laundry, gathered garbage to go to the curb this morning, vaccuumed the livingroom and computer room, made the kids clean their rooms (not as successful as it could have been), sorted the kids' books to get rid of some, called my sister to set up a get together next Sunday, and made lunch & dinner. So far this morning I've: gotten cereal for the kids, called to arrange a fuel oil delivery & written the check ($562.35 for 150 gal - can someone work on LOWERING the price of oil???), called to order inner fender well liners for my car (I still can't drive it in wet weather.), paid the cable/internet bill, and changed a NASTY diaper. Is it time to go back to bed?!?

The oil just got delivered... The driver said they're so slow he's doing tomorrow's work today. Do ya' think?!? Every time I call - which is about every 3 wks - it's gone up by at least $20!!! I still need to do dishes, get the garbage to the curb, and grab a shower so I'll leave ya' with some LOs!

A little bummed...

I applied for a position designing bragbook and regular QPs for a designer who was holding a call for both "regular" CTs and QP design CT members. I figured it would be a way to get a little extra money while scrapping... I submitted my "try out" pages last night, and this morning got an email inviting me to join the CT - as a regular CT member. Don't get me wrong - I'm grateful for the invite, but I just cut back on my CTs. I was hoping for the little extra income doing what I love.

So,... if you are a designer reading this, and would be interested in me for that kind of position please email me at absolutartist1@gmail.com . I'm ready to try my hand at making them for (small - I realize it won't be much) profit, and could probably handle 2-3 designers depending on how prolific they are.

Moving on - Heather and I completed ADSR3!!! YEAH!! We finished and submitted our final challenge LOs last night/this morning! Here's my #11:

Friday again!

I managed to get Heather the photos and journaling last night. I also finished 1 LO last night, and 1 this morning. I'll have to finish up my LO for ADSR #11 tonight.

I did it. I bit the bullet, and ordered this:
http://www.abesofmaine.com/item.do?item=PSDMCFZ18S#tabs

I also got an extended life battery, and used a $10 off coupon so that I got both for just under $350 with free shipping. I should have it next week I hope!

I still feel a little guilty as there are so many other things the $ should be going to. But, this camera still uses SD cards where the others I was looking at used either Compact Flash or XD which meant buying all new cards. AND, it uses Li Ion batteries instead of AAs which last longer and recharge better. AND, it has an 18x optical zoom plus 4x digital!! Big step up from my 3x optical plus 4x digital! I really missed the zoom capabilities my first digital camera had.

Thursday? All ready??

I didn't have time to post yesterday morning... I did the taxes Tuesday night after I got home - which means I did very little else. But, they are done. Filed. Finshed.

Mike also got a bonus from work this week so we went out last night, and got him a laptop on sale at Best Buy for $449. He's been jonesing for a laptop for about 3 yrs now, and the one I got him 2 yrs ago ended up being a joke. Now he's making noises about "borrowing" my camera. So I'm thinking I may spend part of the tax return to upgrade my camera which I've wanted to do for about a year now, and give him the camera I currently use. I really like the Fuji Finepix S5200. I'm just not sure after so long with a point-and-click digital if I'm ready to head back to the adjusting issues of an SLR. It's also about $350.

Yesterday morning and evening I was working on a one-time deal for Summer of Sugar Giggles. She's redesigning her site, and needed some layout examples of her kits/paper packs/elements. I think I may do one more 'cause I'm not super-crazy about the first one.

--------------------------

So,... on Saturday... I managed to get to about 6 hrs of the 12 hr crop. I felt really disorganized 'cause I ended up "packing" in about 3 hrs Friday night/Saturday morning which meant I didn't have time to get any page kits together like I normally would for a crop. I did have some left from last May for my San Francisco album which I took, but I really wasn't in the mood to work on them. In the end I completed 20-8x8 pages for an album using a coordinating paper pack/chipboard pack/and album with some Bazzill; 6-12x12 pages of various themes; and covered a 12 page board book (14 if you count the covers) so that all I need to do is add photos and embellies!

I'm trying to upload the 20pg album to Scrapjazz as I blog, but it's being a booger. It'll only let me upload 1 pg at a time. It may not be all done before I leave for work, but if you want to see it click here. I've all ready uploaded the 6 random pages and the board book... I did want to share my fav LO from Saturday here though...

Not sure you can see it from the bad pic, but he's got socks stuffed in his undies! ROFL!
-----------------

That's about it. I spent a good portion of yesterday downloading my April CT kits. I managed to avoid doing the taxes again which means I should do them tonight... Yesterday was my last Monday off for the year. Next week I'm back to 6 days a week at work...

Gotta' run! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!
