Friday's Question of the Week...

So how did your November shape up? I've managed to complete 16 of the 21 challenges I had lined up. I think I'll be able to finish 1 more tonight, but it depends on if Brenden gets to decorate the way he's been begging to do for a week! LOL

I got one LO done last night, but I wanted to cry so bad... I had this almost completely finished when PSP crashed without it being saved which meant I had to totally re-create it. The LO didn't turn out quite the way I envisioned, but I think it's still pretty neat!

The Momma Sofa...

Does anyone else have this issue? Everyone seems to think they need to be on Mommy... Micaila came down to cuddle between/on my feet at about 6am. By 6:30 or so Brenden had woken up upset about something, and decided he had to sleep on Mommy... Then the cat joined the fray at about 7... Brenden finally woke up about 8:20 so I could get up! In the meantime I gave the cheek I could reach plenty of kisses 'cause he tends to resist them most of the time if he's awake! LOL

So I got nothing done this morning... no dishes... no laundry... no LOs... no freebie for Saturday... no circle journal... I did get plenty of cuddle time though! I also watched CSI Miami and CSI NY while waiting for kiddos to wake up and move.
---------------------

I've switched up my CT duties again a little... I've left Cyndi's CT due to some technical difficulties, and have joined Kara Jones' personal CT! Next week I have 2 December Guest Spots that will added to my set - Heather Manning & Penny's Miscellany, and I'm continuing on Connie's CT as a Guest for the month of December as well! Tons to do! :D

It's supposed to start snowing sometime this afternoon, and not stop until sometime tomorrow with "siginificant" accumulation... YUCK!

I need to start my DSO Ad Challenge LO, and throw a load of laundry in the washer on my way out the door so I'm off!

Wacky Wednesday

Well, I guess I'm feeling more myself... I finished 1 LO last night, and 2 this morning - 1 for the DSO Color Challenge. I also took the first of the photos for the Ad Challenge LO for DSO so hopefully I can finish that up tonight... If I can get that done there will only be 7 others to finish the 21... I don't think I'm getting to all of them this month, but I did much better than last month! :D

The kids are feeling marginally better. They both still sound nasal most of the time, but the cough has dropped to an occassional issue - and mostly when they're running in circles... Mike must be feeling better because he actually created a list of things he needs to get done today.

I had SOOOOOO much fun driving home last night let me tell you... We had our first official snowstorm of the year. Lake effect sucks for those of you who haven't experienced it - the snow drives at you in such away that it is hard to see the road through the flakes. We didn't get much accumulation, but it started 10 minutes before I had to leave work - of course! The drive that normally is done at about 59 MPH was done at an average of 20 MPH in a lineup of traffic... It is an 18 mile drive from home to work on a major road, and not ONCE did I pass a snowplow...

Miserable Monday

Not much sleep this weekend. By the time he got home from work on Friday Mike was sick as well. I really wish I'd been smart enough to take a nap while Dad was here yesterday, but I was too intent on trying to get ANY scrapping done... I hadn't even managed to get 1 LO done in two days which is fairly unusual for me, and was making me feel guilty because I'd just gotten a bunch of new kits from my designers again. I'd also taken on a 1-time product check assignment for BZB Designs. (A GORGEOUS winter paper pack!!)

I did managed to complete 5 LOs, but it was a battle. I tried to use a few other CT kits, and it just wasn't clicking like normal... I can normally open any kit, and see the pieces I'd like to play with - then the LO just flows from there. It wasn't working that way for me yesterday...

Saturday...

Just a quick note... I am still here, but didn't get much sleep last night as you can imagine. In fact I ended up not getting up 'til 8am because of lost sleep during the night, was late running out the door, and almost late to open at work...

Last night Micaila insisted I stay with her while they were watching Shrek 3 so I couldn't play on the pc then either! LOL

So the short version is no freebie this week - so sorry. I have started work on some overlays/papers using old letters from Gram which Dad was kind enough to scan for me this past week while I was at work. So I should definitely have something for you next week.

I hope to get a LO or two done this afternoon/evening, and if all goes well at least 2 or 3 tomorrow. Connie just passed the CT members a new collab kit with Adrienne of ACM Designz which is really cute so I'm hoping to get a LO with that done today. :)

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

And, I'm off...

Just got the call from Mike saying they are about 40 minutes from work. Time to get dressed and get the ice off the car. Not sure if I'll make it back on here before work so here are the other two LOs I finished yesterday:

PS - I ended up getting two sick kids at 5:20am... so I never went to Target. :( I turned right around and came home again. I couldn't make them get in and out of the van in the cold with the coughs they had going. Brenden was upset when I got in the van because "Daddy welled" (yelled) at him, and got so bad with the coughing that he was throwing up mucus. It's a good thing I came home 'cause under the blanket on their laps Micaila was wearing her black "leather" miniskirt! I got them inside, her in pants, and him in a fresh shirt, and everyone off to sleep again.

My kids are also never sick, mind you. Micaila was in the hospital with RSV at 3 weeks old for a week, but otherwise they have only ever had sniffles or a minor cough. This is a chest cold. He has it full blown, and she's got it minor atm...

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm posting late today, but that's because I don't have much to say, and am being fairly lazy again! LOL

I've put the soup away, watched Criminal Minds and CSI NY while dying my hair, and sorted through ALMOST all of the kids' clothes. That's it so far. Well, beyond the LO I just created! I have 1 35 gal tote overflowing with the clothes they have outgrown... and another 35 gal tote 3/4 full of clothes that MAY fit next summer...

Dad made us a hash brown/omlet concoction for breakfast that was good, and now he's workin' on the rest. I really don't even know what all he's got planned - I just stay out of his way! It smells good though...

My sister, Nora, called last night to ask about her family coming over. They had their big dinner last Saturday so she was going to make stuffed chicken breasts to bring over. (She's got four kids so it would have meant the meal for 2-3 Dad was planning would have had to feed 8-9...) Then she called this morning to say that unless the weather changed she wasn't going to make it. We've had a mix of snow and freezing rain going on for over 2 hours now... the plow/sander just went through...

Mom decided she doesn't want to come over... so she's home alone watching a Price Is Right marathon...

I still need to finish sorting the clothes, get laundry put away, catalogue and wrap Xmas gifts, and I'm hoping to get 2-3 more LOs done. Wish me luck!

Just another Humpday?

Mornin', all! Well, Dad took me to dinner at a diner in Watertown after work last night, and after unloading the van and putting groceries away we sat down and watched Live Free or Die Hard. It was great! I love the dry, sarcastic humor in those movies!! Right up my alley!

Anyway it was half way through the movie before I realized I hadn't brought the soup veggies in, and at that point I was too tired to care! So no LO this morning 'cause I got up (when the fire siren went off at 5:45am...), checked email, and sat down to watch XXX: State of the Union (thank you DVR!!) while cleaning/cutting veggies. I now have the soup in the crockpot so it should be done about 9pm tonight, and dishes done.

I need to go hop in the shower, and get off to work. No work tomorrow!!! Be sure to stop by the DSO ladies' blogs today to grab their freebies! I have links for Kim (Kim B Designs), Kristine (WenchdGrafix), and Andrea (Boyerville Scraps) and their blogs are sure to send you on to the other ladies! (And, don't forget Heather (Manning) still particpates even though she's not DSO anymore!!)

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Blank...

Can't think of a title for today! LOL I've been awake since 4:45am as the cat decided she needed to sit next to my head and keep scratching herself until I couldn't get back to sleep. Unless I'm really sick or utterly exhausted I'm a very light sleeper... Debating calling Kol to tell him to wake up so I can talk to someone! LOL

I did nothing last night. Picked up pizza on the way home, and after eating a bowl of broccoli & cheese soup (YUM!) and 1 slice of pizza fell alseep on the sofa.

Dad's planning to drop me off at work today, and run errands in town while I'm at work so I should have plenty to do when I get home tonight. soup... sort kids' clothes... put laundry away... catalogue/wrap Xmas gifts... pay van loan...
---------------------------

I created 1 LO this morning, and I think I'm going to go watch CSI Miami quick before heading to work so that will be all this morning...

Goodbye weekend...

I wish weekends lasted just a little bit longer. There never seems to be quite enough time to do everything that needs doing. Of course, when you REALLY don't want to do some of the things procrastination sets in, and then you run out of time even faster! LOL
--------------------------

Thanks to Dad we have plastic over the two windows that leak cold air the worst. I was going to cover a few other windows, but they don't seem to be leaking air so we'll wait a few weeks to see how bad it gets... I do have to say with blankets over the two doors and the plastic over the one window the livingroom and computer room are MUCH warmer than the rest of the house. Dad got two space heaters for us through some mailing which seem to be highly effective. The larger one (which we've placed in this area) heats up to 1000 square feet which is probably slightly more space than the two rooms combined. I put the smaller one in the kitchen so if we have to spend much time in there it can be turned up.

I also finally have the curtains up in our bedroom!! They've only been sitting in a bag for about 6 months now... LOL

I didn't get the vegetable soup made as I'd hoped because I just couldn't bring myself to sit in the kitchen to clean and chop veggies. I did clean a huge chunk of my scrapping table in here though so I'm thinking I may just bring everything in here tonight, and wash the table really well afterwards.
--------------------------

I've gotten 11 pages done since my Saturday morning post, but can only share 9. I created 2 brag book QPs just before running to work on Saturday for Connie as part of a surprise she's working on. I've also been asked to stay on as a guest CT member for December with her! Fun! Keep watching, and I'll post more details when I'm allowed!

AND, I'm doing a 1-time gig for K-Joi Studios for Kara's newest kit "Bad Boy"! It's really awesome for anyone with headbangin' photos, skaters, bikers, etc!

Friday's Question of the Week...

What inspires you to scrap? Is it a book, a magazine, ads on tv, sketches, just plain dumb luck? What is it that gives you the push to go create a page?

For me I think the majority of it is just plain dumb luck... Although I do get my fair share from sketch challenges, ad challenges, etc.

Lazy me...

I got home to an empty house last night (except for the cat...), and decided not to do much of anything. I pretty much vegged on the couch watching re-runs of CSI (Vegas) on Spike until I fell asleep. Mike called about 7:40pm to let me know they were about 20 minutes from his mom's house, and Kol called me to chat for a few minutes 'cause he knew I was alone (which translates to lonely no matter how much I should enjoy a few days off), but otherwise it was just me with my leftover salad from lunch and the cat.
---------------------

To answer your question, Dawne, I watch them all... CSI (Vegas), CSI Miami, CSI NY, Bones, Criminal Minds, and I even watched part of a Women's Murder Club episode - finally. I also DVR Scrapbook Memories and Supernatural. The problem I have is most of those need to be watched while the kids are asleep as they are starting to call my shows people killer shows...

Diane, more than happy to help if you'd like some QPs just let me know! I'd probably stick to Heather's kits as I know you have those so it shouldn't break any copyright/TOU issues...

Andrea, great to know. Thanks!! I'll have to check it out tonight when I'm doing all the blog surfing I need to do to catch up on my downloads again. I tend to hop blogs while I'm at work and can't download! LOL

Heather, I will have a goodie on here Saturday to help you with your Xmas card dilemma!!

I bound it using a binding system we have at work. I just had to buy the binding combs. The package I got was 100 combs for $9 so I have plenty left for other projects/next year's calendars, etc.! This also allows the pages to hang flat against a wall. OH! And, I used my crop-a-dile to punch the "hanging" hole in them as well... all 13 pages (per calendar) of cardstock at once! :D
----------------------

I conked out at about 9pm last night so I got up this morning, and watched my Criminal Minds and CSI NY. Anybody else worried for Garcia??? (And, wishing they hadn't seen something like that coming from the beginning of the episode...)

Anywho - the only thing I've gotten done this morning besides watch tv is getting those calendar comps created and uploaded. Now I need to get off so I can cash my check before work. For those who are wondering the appts yesterday went fairly well, and the financial crap should be straightened out by the end of Dec at the latest.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Sleep! I want sleep!

Oh, well! I've been up since 4am again. That's what I get for actually trying to sleep in my bed instead of on the sofa... My bed bothers my back so that I normally am either wide awake by 4am due to pain, or have to move down to the sofa by 4am anyway to finish sleeping.
---------------

I have 3 pages left to print in order to have 4 complete copies of the 2008 calendar. I'll have to bind them quick when I drop my car off at work this morning. Mike and I have 2 appts this morning due to financial issues that we have to take care of. So, I'll be going in to work late, and he'll be leaving for LI before I get home...
---------------

I added the credits for the 2 calendar pages to yesterday's post. I also believe I mis-posted where the Thrift Store kit came from... It's from Elemental Scraps not Scrapbook Elements. I think we need a few more online stores with similar names - don't you?!?! LOL At this point I really can't even remember where all I am registered! I'm fairly sure several of the stores have my NFCU email address which is no longer valid...
---------------

Oh! In case anyone needs it, and didn't notice - I added a jpeg version of my TOU for freebies at the top left. Feel free to snag if needed because I don't think any of my Word Art freebies had TOU included... I try to keep my TOU to jpeg or Notepad as anyone with a pc can open those. :) I personally don't have Word atm so I know it can be a nuisance to have a file you can't open easily.
----------------

Here's the January opposing page for the calendar:

Busy, busy, busy

I'm trying to get all these calendars printed before work... Back to post later! :)
----------------

Ok... so 4 hrs later...

I did manage to finish November and December last night, but my printer is very unhappy with me. It is not meant for large-scale print jobs, and I've asked it to print over 60 pages in the last 24 hrs... I also created 1 base LO for the opposing pages, and changed the background paper to coordinate with each month. I didn't even manage to get 1 full calendar printed for binding today which means I'll need to try to get them all printed tonight, and have Miek wait the 10 minutes for me to bind them tommorrow.

Mike ended up having a mandatory meeting at 7:30pm for work last night... So he was at work yesterday from about 4:30am 'til 8:35pm... Which means he didn't get home 'til just after 9pm. And, then left the house by 4am again...

Do you think I'm a little stressed and annoyed atm?!?! LOL

Anywho - I can share the previews of Nov & Dec, but the notepad doc for credits is at home. I'll have to try to remember to add the credits later!

Monday Rush...

This will be late getting posted as it is all ready 8:50am, and I still have to shower & get out the door. So,... I'm adding links, and waiting 'til a break at work to do the rest! LOL
----------------

I decided not to post yesterday 'cause I had a LOT to do, and creating my full post normally takes 30 minutes to an hour depending on the number of LOs to insert etc. Besides Sundays have been pretty lonely lately! :D

I won a full kit from Scrapbook Elements yesterday via DST! I got the full Thrift Shop - Hand Me Downs kit for being one of the first two to post why I loved it. It's a gorgeous kit, and the elements are so varied I should be able to use it for many different types of pages!

I also got my email for the SBB NDSD QP Album this morning... 101 pages and 1.9Gb fully downloaded!!! Wow, there was a huge response to that challenge! LOL Oh, and the best part... hope DH doesn't see this... the price? $1000.00!!! LOL Not something anyone is going to purchase if they didn't manage to participate!!! As long as you participated you should receive an email with a completely unique coupon code to get it for $0 or $5 if you want/need it burned to DVD and mailed.

I got 4 pages done yesterday, and 2 this morning... I have 2 more calendar pages I need to finish and print tonight. I also have to stop at Staples on the way home tonight to get binding combs because 4 of these need to go to LI with Mike on Wednesday...

For those of you who haven't managed to stop by Digital Scrap Garden yet... do it! We now have a Welcome Kit for all members!! You'll get a free kit from Traci, Dawne, and Nonita just for joining! :) (Link is to left!!)
