I'm ok...

It was quick. I'll give you that... I was in and out of imaging sercvices at the hospital in under 20 minutes. But, it's always encouraging when a test starts with a tech giving the warning, "When we inject the dye you may feel a little warm, and you might have the urge to pee." Guess that explains not even any water for 4hrs prior... The test itself didn't take all of about 5 minutes, but I have a LOVELY bruise at the injection site. I won't know more 'til my follow-up next Thursday at 8:15 with Dr. Hillerman.

So, good news regarding the parotid tumor:
- diagnosed as benign in 2004
- with new technology there is a very slim chance of paralysis in that side of the face after surgery
- can be performed right here in Watertown by Dr. Hillerman rather than driving the 100 miles to Syracuse
- Dr. Hillerman's done the surgery enough times to be confident in his abilities (so I am as well)
- only requires an overnight stay for observation purposes

Bad news regarding the parotid tumor:
- it will leave a nasty red scar for quite a while (like the large lump isn't bugging me now...)
- it may cause Fryes Syndrome (your saliva nerves grow into your skin and cause "sweating" while eating)
- I'll lose feeling in my earlobe (jeez, sorry -think THAT'S the deal breaker LOL)
--------------------

I suddenly have an overabundance of doctors in my life - ya' know?!?! I have an appt with Dr. Fish (endochronologist) on Wednesday at 11:15am. I'm currently attempting to get a Gap Exception from my heath insurance because of course she doesn't participate with UHC only UHC Empire. That means the next nearest endochronologist would be in Syracuse. So, if they deny the GapException the first visit is $275 out of my pocket. If they approve it she will be treated as an in-network doctor until Dec 31, 2008 which means just my normal co-pays.

I've got to go upload a LO as today is the 31st. Another month gone...

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

1 LO Quick...

Gotta' be fast this morning. I have to have a CT scan done before work today for the parotid tumor. I'm not allowed to have ANYTHING to eat or drink for 4 hours before the scan so of course right now I have a dry spot in my throat, and am dying for some water. And, I did ask - not even water...

Things... Many Things...

I managed to get my lancet to work on my calf yesterday morning, and my blood sugar was down to 204. Did you know that Hidden Valley Ranch Original Recipe only only 1gmofcarbs per serving! Several of my favorite foods/drink I've found have few carbs in them per serving, but the Crystal Light Rapberry Mango water flavoring I REALLY like has 5gm of carb per serving... Since there are 3 servings per each bottle of water I drink that's out.
-------

Tomorrow I probably won't be blogging as I have to be out of here by no later than 7:30am for my dr appt. I'm seeing an ENT specialist about my parotid tumor. Not sure if the diabetes will cause an issue or not...
-------

I want to share a photo of our newest frog. The first one died after about 24hrs. No clue why either. It was fine at 5am, and dead at 8am... This one is SO much more lively though. In fact it took a hopping dive from my hand to my foot just after I took this pic! Doesn't understand the cat would just as soon eat it!! LOL I think I'm gonna name it Fred. I hope the photo gives you a sense of how teeny-tiny this fella is! :)

Oh! While you are there be sure to stop in the Garden to vote on our Round 1 entries in the Designer Contest. And, check out our challenges in the Parlor as well!! We have many fun ones, and new ones are about to be posted for August!

Which just serves to remind... Where the heck has this year gone?!?!? I swear every time I stop to look another week has flown by... I'll have an exciting announcement coming up in about a week or so. Watch for it!

But, now I have to go get the kids dressed and eating, stick myself, eat breakfast, take meds, take a shower, do the dishes, and get to work. LOL Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Post 252...

I meant to point out of my 250th post, but with the diabetes bs I forgot... This is actually post 252, but hey! Better late than never, right?!?!

I haven't felt much like talking the last few days. Kinda' just wallowing in the "poor me" feelings. Not real healthy I know. But, jeez, I poked myself EIGHT times Thursday morning, and couldn't get enough blood into the test strip for the test. And, that's using "the world's smallest needed sample" test kit... I wasted like 5 test strips and 4 lancets, and had myself so worked up by the 8th time that I was dizzy and naseous so I gave up and laid down for 5 minutes. It took 2 pokes and 2 test strips yesterday, and 1 today. Of course, with only minor adjustments to my diet (as the doctor didn't give me any new guidelines) my sugar went from 275 on the 17th to 245 yesterday and after 1 dose of the medicine to 216 this morning. I have to run though so...

It didn't work...

Crossing my fingers that is... The doctor told me first that I don't have any infection - just some fluid behind my eardrum. I should take my Zyrtec (and Sudafed as needed) and it should go away as it appears to be the allergy issue I originally thought. Then she went on to inform me that I have the 4th highest case of uncontrolled diabetes she's ever seen. :( My sugar count had jumped from 175 to 275 in 18 months, and my hemoglobin ac1 which should be 6-6.5 is at 12.9.

She's also pretty unhappy with me right now. When I informed her that I am unable to swallow pills unless they are fairly small she got really annoyed because all of the medicines that would effectively treat it are large. She ended up putting me on a medicine she didn't want to because it is small enough I should be able to swallow it, and is getting me a referral to the endochronoligist in town. She wasn't happy because this medicine isn't really the proper one to treat me, and isn't sure how long it will take to get me into the specialist. Hopefully the specialist will have some alteratives to help.

I have 2 LOs from Sunday/Monday, but I need to go shower & get out the door to work so I guess tomorrow...

Quick post...

Gotta' run 'cause I feel so cruddy I got up late, and we have to be out the door in about 1/2 hour to get to Micaila's kindergarten physical appt. Then maybe the zoo to spend sometime as I have a dr appt at 1:15. I finally gave up yesterday on the sinus/ear/jaw issue going away, and made an appt for today. An hour later a different nurse from the office called me to try to make an appt 'cause they got my bloodwork back, and my sugar is abnormal. I'm crossing my fingers that we can write it off to whatever infection I have going on, and have a redo once this is cleared up 'cause I don't want to hear that I'm diabetic. I can't swallow pills...

Back later with more...

------------------------

The tadpoles have legs! Teeny, tiny ones, but they are there. I managed to find a website last night that states they love to eat... lettuce!! Supposedly they are almost as popular a pet as goldfish according to that site... Odd, but whatever! I used to catch a bullfrog once a year for the frog jumping contest at our town festivities. I won once for largest frog and once for longest jump. My neighbor would help me catch them from the bay out back of my parents' house. I always let them go right after the contest though. Don't think Mom would have been ok with a pet bullfrog... Dad & I caught 7 from the pool, and I have them in a Beta breeding tank that I took the divider out of atm. When they start getting a little bigger I'll have to put a few back into the pool. In the meantime I think it's good for the kids to see them developing. Kind of a summer science project... I can just hear Micaila in September... "This summer we raised tadpoles..." LOL

I've become an Assistant Gardener over at Digital Scrap Garden. I'll be helping Dawne out where I can while Purple Frog and Flutterby are busy with their lives. I'll be hosting my own color challenge, Cate's Garden Rainbow, starting Aug 1st. And, I'm guest hosting Flutterby's Quote Challenge for Aug as well. I'm thinking maybe a template or word art pack as the posting prize for the Quote Challenge, and a template or paper pack prize for the Color. I hope to see many of you over there! We're a very friendly and laidback group - no drama.
---------

I've still got sinus/headache/jawache issues going on. I need to get to a doctor, but... I all ready have an appt with an ENT specialist on the 29th because of my parotid tumor. (It's benign.) I guess it really is time to think about getting it taken care of. I mean - hey - it's only been there for at least 6 or 7 years now... (And, don't worry Dawne - I would only be away for a day or two if it ends up being a surgery.)

Onward we go...

I've left both site teams. It's when you are really down about something that you find out who your true friends are. Several of the girls on my CT Team at PPF are ones I work with on 2 or 3 teams, and in some cases have done so for the better part of a year... Yet none of them so much as questioned where I've gone or why... One of the other leaders did contact me to get some feedback, but that's it.

WHATEVER!!! I'll post my LOs at those sites for Heather, but that's it.
----------------

I had trouble getting to sleep again last night, and put in 2 more CT apps. I'd counted wrong before - I had 3 more apps out. I've gotten 2 more rejections.

Well, I've done it...

I've made my decision. All that's left to do is upload 1 LO to 2 galleries (I've exceeded my 24 hr limit), post my links, and say goodbye. I've left my position GDWI. I may also be leaving PPF. (I'm waiting on a PM there.) It's breaking my heart and I've gone through several spats of crying tonight, but I can't take the disrespect I've felt for a couple months now any longer. Please don't get me wrong - I have no issues with the sites themselves, but co-workers were handling my job without me asking, without me wanting them to, and in doing so giving different answers from the expectations I'd set in place. When I tried to get that straightened out I instead had my positions handed over to others, and was given positions I had no desire for and am not sure fit my strengths very well... I'm also not trying to start any drama. I'm just really hurt and let down right now.

Kinda' havin' a pity party since there's no one on to b*tch to... I really should be asleep as I have work tomorrow, and actually am not in a huge amount of pain tonight...

I'm not sure what else to say. I'm kind of getting numb now...

Gloomy Sunday...

So, I'm still not entirely over my PO'd issue. I was waiting for an email since last Sunday, and when I finally got it on Friday it was not what I had been expecting. So now I'm waiting for an answer to my questions regarding the changes made in the email. I know this sounds a little clandestine and all, but I really don't want to create drama that doesn't have to exist.

In a nutshell I'm not happy about the way some of my duties have been going for one of my teams, and I need to make a decision whether to stay or go. But, I feel like I am missing vital information to make the best decision for me. I don't really want to leave, but with the changes made I'm not sure staying is a good idea as I think it will just make my life even more stressful.

It's drizzly and gray here today. I'm hoping the weather's better in Syracuse 'cause we're heading out in about an hour or so for the family reunion just south of Syracuse. My niece, Krysti, spent the night so she can go with us, and is currently taking a shower with Micaila. Two birds - one stone.

Mike went after Brenden's hair with scissors on Thursday. Supposedly, Brenden begged Daddy to cut his hair... FYI - never let men near kids with scissors... I guess it could be worse. Mike's been threatening to buzz Brenden's head with the clippers for over a year. Instead this may grow back to looking normal in about a month... At this point I have tried to clean it up a little, and then Dad did.

We have tadpoles...

Ok, some background first... So the house that we rent comes with a 24ft above-ground pool. The porch off the kitchen has a deck built that goes around the back of the house to access the pool. I've sunk over $200 each summer for the last two summers on shock it, chlorine tablets, and baking soda to get the pool clean enough to use (and maintain the clean). That's not counting the $175 (plus tax)for the deck to pool ladder as the one on it when we moved in was broken. The previous tenants had duct taped it together so the landlord wouldn't notice. So approximately $600 dollars (not counting electric for the pump) later you know how much I've been able to use it?!?! Umm,... I think I let my feet dangle in it for about 10 minutes last summer!!

Mike couldn't get the old ladder off so my brother, Blayne, did it for me when he was up the first fall. Mike tried to put the new ladder on last year, and couldn't get the second bolt into the deck. What I didn't know is that he didn't weigh down the bottom of the new ladder with the bricks I had set on the deck for that purpose... Until this spring when the pool thawed, and the air bubbles popped the ladder to the top of the pool and sideways breaking it in two... You can see why I decided I wasn't going to open the pool this summer, right?? I mean what a money pit.

Well, now bring in the fact that we have at least 2-3 frogs hanging out in our backyard. Their croaks all sound different so I ASSUMED they were different species of frogs... I mean we have an abundance of species in the area... Do you see where this is going yet?!?! LOL

Yup! Apparently the frogs think my pool is the perfect pond. I went out two nights ago to try to find the one that sounds like it is living in my pool, and found TADPOLES!!! Scads and scads of tadpoles!!! ROLMAO Can't wait 'til they all start croaking!!!

I haven't cropped any of the shots yet. Iknow a few will look better after cropping. These are just a few of my favs. I ended up with close to 100. I took my tripod, and managed to setup in a motel parking lot straight across from Boldt Castle where the display is shot from.

I've spent the majority of the time I'm on the pc since Thursday night ripping CDs to the smaller EHD. (That is, I keep switching out the CDs while working on other things... LOL) Between the two of us, I believe we own close to 400 CDs, and I only ever use them when in the vans. I figure this way I can listen while working on the pc, or cleaning in the house. AND, if I can figure out how to use the MP3 player Mike was given about 7 years ago I can take some of it with me from time to time! LOL

I think I need to try to finish up the planting today... or maybe tomorrow... The landlord stopped by to get the rent this morning so I have permission to plant asmall veggie garden, and know he's trying to get the house converted to electric heat. Having municipal power here in town helps a LOT. I know the electric bill will be fairly high some months, but it can't be as high as the fuel oil bill which I'm estimating will probably be about$800/150 gal in Sept... And, we end up needing about 150 gal every 3 weeks from Sept-March.

Anyway, I'd better get some other stuff done! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

I'm Animal, and you?

You Are Animal
A complete lunatic, you're operating on 100% animal instincts.
You thrive on uncontrolled energy, and you're downright scary.
But you sure can beat a good drum.

Back to the grind...

Work... Do I need to say more? Well, I will anyway!! LOL

I'm gone for 3.5 days, and suddenly nothing is where it belongs! Dalton wasn't completely sure about running proofs so no proofs got completed while I was gone. Which would have been ok - if they had just not done it at all... But instead, Gary had Dalton try, and one of the sets he'd tried to run I had to re-do because all of the horizontal files were cropped in the wrong direction...

I guess it's ok - gives me an excuse to work a little extra time yesterday, today, and maybe tomorrow since I won't be paid for my 4 hrs off on Saturday. I get a 3-day weekend, but only get paid for the 7 hrs on Friday. I had to use 3.5 of my remaining 5.5 days off to go to LI.

Don't have a lot of time this morning, and I have some digi-stuff bugging me so that I'm in a funky mood anyway. So, rather than bore you with that I'll just share my LOs, and be on my way...
