I'm ok...

It was quick. I'll give you that... I was in and out of imaging sercvices at the hospital in under 20 minutes. But, it's always encouraging when a test starts with a tech giving the warning, "When we inject the dye you may feel a little warm, and you might have the urge to pee." Guess that explains not even any water for 4hrs prior... The test itself didn't take all of about 5 minutes, but I have a LOVELY bruise at the injection site. I won't know more 'til my follow-up next Thursday at 8:15 with Dr. Hillerman.

So, good news regarding the parotid tumor:
- diagnosed as benign in 2004
- with new technology there is a very slim chance of paralysis in that side of the face after surgery
- can be performed right here in Watertown by Dr. Hillerman rather than driving the 100 miles to Syracuse
- Dr. Hillerman's done the surgery enough times to be confident in his abilities (so I am as well)
- only requires an overnight stay for observation purposes

Bad news regarding the parotid tumor:
- it will leave a nasty red scar for quite a while (like the large lump isn't bugging me now...)
- it may cause Fryes Syndrome (your saliva nerves grow into your skin and cause "sweating" while eating)
- I'll lose feeling in my earlobe (jeez, sorry -think THAT'S the deal breaker LOL)
--------------------

I suddenly have an overabundance of doctors in my life - ya' know?!?! I have an appt with Dr. Fish (endochronologist) on Wednesday at 11:15am. I'm currently attempting to get a Gap Exception from my heath insurance because of course she doesn't participate with UHC only UHC Empire. That means the next nearest endochronologist would be in Syracuse. So, if they deny the GapException the first visit is $275 out of my pocket. If they approve it she will be treated as an in-network doctor until Dec 31, 2008 which means just my normal co-pays.

I've got to go upload a LO as today is the 31st. Another month gone...

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

:)
