So for those who were interested here is the paper spread Icompleted yesterday morning:
Credits:
Paper by BG - Pheobe line.
Cardstock by Bazzill.
Acrylic stamps by Autumn Leaves - Rhonna Farrer.
"Stems" made with brown Sharpie pen.
Green metal frames by Making Memories.
Word clips by Around the Block.
Ribbon by Bobbin Ribbon.
Dragonfly buttons, metal dragonfly, and butterfly jewels by unknown.
I inked the frames and the paper edges with brown ink.
-----------------
I have pictures from Micaila's cake and presents Tuesday night. She went around yesterday telling everyone, "Today's the VERY first day I'm 5!" LOL
A fairy doll from Grandma. (She got 3 or 4 from Grandma!)
A t-shirt from Aunt Cindy & Uncle Kevin...
Her "Cinderella" cake.
Blowin' out the candles!
------------------------
And, from the drive in to work yesterday...
Don't know that those really show how nasty it was as I (obviously) had my hands full with driving during the worst parts...
Bill still has my car because... He got a used altenator, installed it, and... EXACTLY duplicated my issues from the morning drive! On an up note he now knows I wasn't exaggerating or crazy! So then he got a NEW altenator and installed it... now my headlights flux brighter and dimmer while the car idles. So he's now trying to track down a wiring issue...
--------------------
For those of you who don't know, and MIGHT be interested... Today is the last day you can purchase a 30-day subscription to Atomic Cupcake. They have actions for PS 7, CS, CS2 & CS3, and PSE 4 & 5 (6 with conversion). They also have kits for those who don't use PS or PSE. I've never gone there because I use PSP XI, but I got PSE 5 with my tablet and with all the raving I hear about their actions I don't want to miss out so I'm using the birthday money from my Mom and FIL to purchase the 30-day everything subscription for $29.95. That lets me download any kits/elements AND any actions currently available on their site as well as any new ones they post during the next 30 days... approx $700 of items! You can also get just the kits/elements for $15.95 or just the actions for $19.95. Starting tomorrow everything is individually priced... And, no - I have no affliliation with them...
--------------------
I've taken on another CT... Miracle's Momma Designs at ES! And, agreed to stay on with One Scrappy Mom full time! I'm getting anxious waiting for Meg's announcement tomorrow for her team... Hope I get at least a guest spot!
Oh! And, speaking of guest spots... Diane has decided to spread her wings, and has taken on a few of her own! Checkout her blog 'cause she's got a great contest going for one of them!
--------------------
I have no LO for you this morning, but I hope to have at least 1 tomorrow. I need to go do dishes and shower before work so I'm off!
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

It doesn't rain, but what it BLIZZARDS!!!!
Sheesh! We had rain going again this morning at 5:30am... which turned to freezing rain... which turned to snow... with HIGH winds... We have a "Winter Weather Advisory" in effect until 6am tomorrow morning. With almost 1000 customers in the county having no power due to downed lines... AND, all vehicles under 60,000 lbs being banned from the TI Bridge due to high winds. YUCK!!!
Add to that the fact that my co-worker pointed out to me yesterday afternoon that there was a puddle of fluids where my car had been parked in the morning... So I had to drop it off at the mechanic's this morning... The yokels at the Super WalMart stripped my drain plug on my oil pan when they did the oil change Thursday night. (Don't get me wrong the older of my two brothers was (and should still be) a manager at one of the Super WalMart Car Care Centers so I KNOW they aren't all yokels, but still... Blayne's only not a manager now because he had to transfer stores when they moved from VA to UT.)
BUT, WAIT... THERE"S MORE!!! Just outside of town my ABS light comes on... a mile further down the road my radio COMPLETELY cuts out - no power... about a mile later every time I step on the brakes my Air Bag light comes on, and then flashes several times before shutting off when I let off the brake... as I'm turning into the mechanic's parking lot the ETS light goes on... Turns out my alternator is almost dead as well!
My car IS 10 yrs old, but at this point it is more of a Frankenstein... You'd think it could give me a month or two btwn major issues?!?!
---------------
I didn't have time this morning to upload any photos to share, but I do plan to share 1 or 2 of Micaila's cake and opening presents. I also have 1 or 2 of the drive in this morning... SOOOOOOO much fun!
And, I did finish the pages for the 2nd CJ before I ran out the door this morning. I didn't have time to upload the photo of it though, and am still waiting to find out who it has to be mailed to... The person it belongs to I believe. Dad dropped off the other two I had at the PO for me this morning after dropping me at work so the hostess should have them by Friday at the latest.
--------------
My baby girl is 5 today! Not much else to report, and I'm trying to post this quick while the boss is out to lunch so I leave you with another blogthing...
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Gettin' it done...
So I'm a bad, bad paper scrapper... We started CJ swap in May 2007 - when I was still about 50/50 with my scrapping. In November one of the other participants disappeared off our radar completely. REALLY odd because she's one of our more reliable members, but there you have it. The reason we found out she'd disappeared is because the CJ I sent to her in Oct came BACK to me from the USPS for not being picked up!
So we waited a while trying to get a hold of her, then diliberated, and the hostess decidedshe would angel the pages forthemissing person until we find out what's going on. Well, by then it was December, and with the holidays and the bankruptcy I managed to completely forget about it... Fast forward to this morning when I went to GS to check on something, and found that the hostess has been trying to get a hold of me. I feel like a goober. We don't get PM notices by email from GS, and I hadn't been there for a few days again. Anywho, I have completed the pages for the CJ that wasdue out in NOVEMBER... I am going to do the one I just got either tonight or tomorrow morning so I can take them BOTH to the PO together tomorrow.
Somebody needs to slap me. I just have no inspiration where this CJ is concerned. It will be my last for quite a while I believe. Give me digi, and I'm all over it, but paper... well??? Of course, that doesn't stop me when I find AWESOME buys... I got several items at a $1 store yesterday... We're talking BG and K by Marcella metal items & stickers here folks!
So here's the one I finished this morning:
Credits:
Papers by K&Co.
Cardstock by Bazzill.
Paper clip and ribbon by K&Co.
Brads by JoAnns.
Flowers by Prima.
Book plate by Making Memories.
----------------------------
BTW - I got LOTD for Summer Days on Sunday at SDD, and LOTD for Arr Me Hearties at TSG yesterday!
I have to run 'cause we've got freezing rain goin' on, and I have to get to work...

We're taking Micaila to Denny's for lunch today as I won't be able to do much with her on her birthday so I need to go finish getting ready to go! I've been awake since 4:45am, and up since 5:30... I managed to get quite a bit of cleaning/straighteneing done, the garbage to the curb, and the old pc reformatted so the kids can use it!

Diane gave me two awards which I'll have to pass on... That'll wait 'til tomorrow though.

Would you like to win Heather Manning's new Grab Bag?
Here's what you have to do...

----------------------------
No LOs this morning, as I was working on some QPs for a temp gig last night and this morning...
Thanks for stiopping by, and have a great day!

Guess What?!?!?!
Guess what, guess what, guess what?!?!
Dad got me a medium, black Bamboo Wacom Tablet for my birthday!!! Yeah! (insert dancing smilie here!!) I've got to be honest, I was a little disappointed on Monday when he brought a big gift bag in for me, and it had 2 picture frames, 4 blouses/jackets, and a cucumber melon air freshener for my car (yum) 'cause he's normally pretty good to me with the techie stuff that he knows I'm looking for. But, then too he's helped me out a lot lately like paying for my trannie since I didn't have the money atm, so I figured, ok maybe Mother's Day...
Then last night he pulls into the drive behind me when I got home, and gives me the tablet!! AND, mint chocolate brownies with mint frosting!! (The gingerbread house was way cute, but having been made on Friday was a tad bit hard to eat on Monday! LOL)
---------------------------
I got one LO done last night...

Gotta' go shovel my way out of the drive.

PS - I just had to add how odd it is that the kindness of an almost stranger can make me so happy... Last night my car was pulled all the way up into the drive because of Dad stopping by so there was a full car length behind me that would need to be shoveled... Only one of my neighbors, whom I've never really spoken with, used his 4 wheeler to plow out all the drive behind my car, the walk, and the path over to the oil tank fill just before I went out the door this morning!

My thanks and a huge sale!
Thanks to all of you wonderful ladies who sent me wishes for my birthday! I had 2 more emails waiting when I got home with more freebies in them, and a card from Diane on her blog, and an email from Kat with some eye candy!
For the most part it was good... I was out of the house with Dad & the kids from about 10am-6:30pm... Dad took us to lunch at Ponderosa. I also stopped at Michael's, and spent the money my FIL sent for my birthday on some digital CDs that were clearance for more than 50% off, and TRIED to grab some 8x8 Shutterfly book coupons clearance at Target, but my store only had keychain and mug coupons left... Then we stopped by my sister's house, and she layered my hair for me - not super-short this time! lol (For those who don't know the last time I let her near my hair was May 2006 when she got distracted, and whacked off a HUGE amount. My hair hadn't been that short since I was 5...) Of course, it started snowing pretty bad while we were at her house so the 15 minute drive home took over a 1/2 hour because it is all back roads... LOL When I got home did dishes while dinner was cooking, and then did "cake" with Dad and the kids...
Needless to say I didn't get any LOs done yesterday, but I am hoping to get 1 done before I run out the door...

Happy Birthday to me...
So I'm officially 33... Not so old, but with the way things have been going at home lately it feels it. I've been slacking again this weekend 'cause I just haven't felt much like scrapping. I know -not me... I did wake up to an Inbox with about 10 site emails wishing me a Happy Birthday, another 1 which included a % off coupon, another 1 with a free kit coupon, and the DST goodie email! I've spent the better part of 2 hours getting goodies with my amount off or free coupons! The % coupons will have to wait 'til after taxes come back when MAYBE I'll have some scrapbook money to spend... I won't drag you through all the previews of my goodies here though 'cause it would probably take up the whole page! While in those stores I also grabbed free samplers if I didn't have them, and probably doubled my Kaboodle!!! LOL
I also got an email from Kristine this morning wishing me Happy Birthday! Thanks so much, hon!

I have 2 LOs from yesterday...

We're off to Ponderosa and some small errands!

Just another Saturday...
Well, I didn't feel much like scrapping last night. I downloaded, unzipped, and combined some of my digi files instead. I need to get my two LOs uploaded today...
-------------------
I did get my car back yesterday morning. It's running great although it is shifting a little harder than it used to, but then - this is a different trannie so... It ended up costing $798 - so literally just under $800 - still not a bad price. I was figuring $700-$1200 total for a replacement, labor, and smaller parts. I'm definitely glad it ended up being closer to the lower end than the higher end.
-------------------
Ok, I am (finally) going to forward the “You Make My Day” award that BOTH Heather Manning and Carjazi Scraps - Diane sent to me last week. Sorry it took so long... I'd hit "publish post" and THEN remember I hadn't done it as I'm trying to run out the door to work! LOL Of course, at this point, I do believe everyone and their aunt has been hit who is in my circle so some of you are getting it again! :P
First of all, corny but true, it is going back to both of those sweet women. Diane was one of my first loyal readers, and made me realize that even if no one else read my blog she enjoyed it. She's become a great friend, and I am truly glad to be able to say that! Heather rewarded me time and again with RAKs (sometimes via Diane!), has become a good friend, and has welcomed me into her CT fold. As far as I am concerned CTing for friends is one of the best ways to do it!
Second, to Andrea who was another of my early "regulars" and also RAK'd me a few times. We seem to trade off issues at home like bad customer service, cars, etc. She's always willing to listen, and has a great sense of kindness. I'm truly greatful to have her as a friend! (PS - I'm also willing to do temp work for you any time you need/want it!)
Third, to the original DSG Gals; Dawne, Traci, and Nita. Also early regulars, these ladies invited me to be part of their growing Garden, which has now exploded into full bloom! We're up to 10 designers in the shop! (And, only 3 little CT members! LOL) Thanks ladies for making me a part of your world!
Fourth, to Kristine for honoring me by asking me to become her newest Wench. It's great to be part of the inner circle of Dork Dancing nuts! Her sense of humor is awesome... I think I've finally found some people that "get" my humor in this Dorkdom!
Fifth, to Kristin, my newest regular, and a virtual neighbor. (She's only about 20 minutes from me while I'm at work!!) It's great to have a local online friend as well... Maybe we'll even get together when the weather gets nicer as I am soooo not a winter person! LOL Thompson Park in the spring??
That's my list for now, but I do reserve the right to pop this award out later if I think of someone else who needs it! :D

I leave you with a blogthing...

Quick post
Not much news today... Dad and I got the car dropped off at the mechanic last night so hopefully I'll have it back sometime tomorrow. When I got home I spent about an hour scrapping with Micaila... and Brenden... Only Brenden's idea of scrapping seems to be cut up any paper in site into confetti! LOL I'd gotten each of them a 6x6 album kit clearance at Target as part of their Xmas gifts. Hers is Hello Kitty-themed and his is Thomas-themed.

REALLY late today! lol
See? That's what I get for posting early yesterday! LOL I had to wait for the boss to go to lunch to post today!
I got 1 LO done last night for a 1 kit/1 time CT gig for Marianne Wahlberg. (It was the hummingbird that sucked me in! :D )
Title: 10th Birthday

So that's a grand total of 23 LOs so far this month, and 28 completed challenges. This one didn't fit any challenges as far as I know.
-------------
Not much else to report. The boss has me uninstalling CS2 & CS3 trial to install CS# and then plans to get Lightroom... I've got a lot of learning to do in the next couple of months!
Thanks for stopping by, and I promise I will get my 10 forwards on here tomorrow! :)

January's half gone!
And, I've completed 28 challenges so far!!! OMG! (Good thing everyone wanted resolutions for their AAM challenge, huh?!?! LOL) On my lists I only have 2 left for DSO, 3 for DSG, 1 for PDW, 2 for SDD, 3 for DD, and 8 more I thought I'd try for GP... If I complete all of these I am going to be shocked! LOL I finished 3 LOs yesterday which completed 4 challenges.

I had to run to get 10 gallons of kero yesterday... The cold snap we had ran us out of fuel faster than expected so that I had no hot water when I went to do dishes yesterday morning. When I called the fuel service to arrange for a delivery the girl on the phone gives me attitude about not being able to get it here yesterday - despite the fact that they are based in my town, and I've explained that I am on zero. And, when I complain about their customer service going downhill she got rude and snotty - arguing with me instead of listening. I'm still waiting on the delivery this morning... I think I'll be switching fuel providers.
----------------
I did manage to get all of the dishes done in 2 large loads yesterday so this morning only the dishes from dinner are in the sink. But, I don't want to use hot water until I get fuel... I didn't bother to do laundry because there wasn't a full load when I checked in the morning, but apparently there were enough accidents through the day to round out a load 'cause Mike threw one in the washer when he got home. (With a LOT of attitude, and banging of the washer.) I just put it into the dryer.
----------------
Brenden's still sleeping, and Micaila's playing their new game for the Leapster- Talking Word Factory. And, Miss Kitty (aka Jealousy) is begging for attention from Micaila... then me... then Micaila... then me...
Here's something to share:
Last night the kids asked if I could draw a castle. So I sketched this out quick for them, and they colored it. Don't ya' just LOVE Brenden's grass and Micaila's sky?! (And, yes, that is Micaila's own signature!)
----------------
I'd better finish getting ready for work. I didn't sleep well so I've got a headache just sitting there waiting to explode... And, the boss is back today.
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

It's snowing... :(
Not much else to report this morning... I didn't feel very scrappy yesterday so I watched Ratatouille and Spiderman 3 with Dad and the kids. Then played Spyro for about an hour, and then made a quick and simple dinner of sandwiches, rice and corn...
-----------------
This morning I've gotten the garbage to the curb, gotten the kids breakfast, cleaned up the toys in Brenden's room, and made myself cocoa. I am avoiding the pile of dishes like the plague... I did 1 large load yesterday, but that didn't clean it all up... and then of course we used more dishes...
I'm not getting paid in any way to say this, but Land O' Lakes Cocoa RAWKS!!! I discovered it when I lived on Long Island, and the Mint and Raspberry flavors quickly becames favs... This winter I found a new flavor - Butterscotch! YUM!!!!
------------------
Well, I prob should get to that pile of dishes so I won't feel so guilty while I'm scrapping... I'm hoping to get 3-4 pages done today.
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!
PS-I completely blame this one on Kristine...

What Cate Means |
You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily. You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind. A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable. You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality. You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life. You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home. You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble. You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone. You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together. At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together. |

I'm a Wench!
That's right... I'm Kristine's newest Wench! Whoo-Hoo! I am so glad my mojo decided to come home for January so I could accept all of these great opportunities! The guest spot I talked about the other day is Jan & Feb for Kristmess who sells at Gotta Pixel and The Scrapping Garden. I've done a lot of guest spots for designers at GP! LOL
------------------
We had no power for about 3 or 4 hrs last night. No idea why... The weather was fine, but sometime after we went to bed at 9:30pm and before 1am we lost power. It came back on at about 4:30am. Other than being a little chilly no harm done.
-----------------
I only got 1 LO done last night even though I got home early. We had to close the office an hour eary due to cleaning the carpets. The first LO was for Heather, and I had it about 80% done when I clicked too fast and crashed PSP - again... I was too annoyed to go back to it. I figure I'll do it this afternoon or tomorrow. So, this is not truly a CT LO, but it is using a bunch of Kristine's freebies!

More LOs!
I got two done last night that completed 3 challenges... Of course, 1 challenge wasn't on my original list! LOL I also found that my Resolutions 2008 LO completed the 1st Jan Monday Mixer Challenge at DD! So I am now up to 21 completed challenges for Jan! I'm psyched! (And, waiting for Andrea to settle in, and complete the color challenge so I can! LOL)
I also got the quote for the trannie... just under $800 including a used trannie (only 72K on it), installation/labor, and filters/fluids/tax. So not horrible considering. The mechanic managed to find that used trannie for $375 - which shocked even him!

Mornin', all!
Well, my trannie is blown... I'm waiting on a quote to have a replacement put in. In the mean time, I'm going to have to borrow Dad's van to get to and from work which really stinks. I HATE leaving someone with the kids and no transportation - just in case something happens...
--------------
We had nasty winds here yesterday. I'm guessing it was the tail end of those tornados from the Midwest. I believe they recorded the winds at a steady 30mph with gusts of up to 70 or 75mph. We had big rigs being blown off the road (knocked over). One big rig in Odgensburg actually went part way off a bridge - the cab was hanging in air.
--------------
Due to those winds we're not sure if the boss got back in from FL yesterday or not. He was supposed to get in, and then pack the van and drive to a weekend ski clinic with his wife. So, if he didn't get in on time due to the winds he may be back in the office sooner than we'd planned...
--------------
I got an email from Pamela yesterday to let me know she's taking a hiatus from designing. And, an email this morning asking if I'd like to guest for another designer! LOL It's all good! I've actually gotten about 1/2 of my challenges done for the month, and about 1/3 of my req CT LOs done... and it's only the 10th!
--------------
That having been said I haven't actually created any LOs since Tuesday morning. I woke up with a massive headache this morning, and really don't want to stare at this screen right now. I'm going to go watch my DVR'd pilot of Bones, and then do dishes and take a shower before work.
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

17 challenges complete!
So I only got 2 more pages done yesterday, but they completed 4 challenges! I also got 1 LO done before work this morning which completed 3 more challenges!
Then... I apparently blew my transmission... I'm not going to say more until I know for sure.

Couldn't sleep...
I managed to finish 2 more pages Saturday after I got home from work/grocery shopping, and 3 more LOs/4 pages yesterday! I have completed a total of 12 pages so far in the 6 days of January that have passed for a total of 10 completed challenges!!! Whoo-Hoo! I feel MUCH more myself! LOL
-----------------
Dad showed up at 8:45 this morning because he forgot that I have Mondays off now! LOL That's ok though because I never did manage to go gas up the van yesterday so I''ll need to do that today, and if I have enough cash stop up at the religious store just outside of town for cold cuts/cheese. They have really good prices, like $3.29/lb for Muenster cheese - regular price! Italian Roast Beef is only $4.29/lb regular price. So we'll probably be taking a short ride a little later.
-----------------
In the first hour I was up this morning - and it was later than usual - I got 1 load of laundry into the dryer, 1 load into the washer, garbage to the curb (with Micaila's help!), breakfast for the kids, Barbie Rapunzel on the DVD player, my 3 daily downoads completed, email checked, and dishes done. Phew! Is it naptime yet?!?! LOL Last night I said good night to Bobbie (One Scrappy Mom) on Hello at 9:30 'cause I was wiped out, and headed to bed... Only to lay there unable to sleep... So after the kids fell asleep I turned the tv back on, and watched Women's Murder Club from DVR, and the first half of The Mists of Avalon. I finally fell asleep at 1:45am, and got up at 8:20!! Two days in a row of sleeping in!
